SQL database requirements

Note that, if you want to compile mnoGoSearch with one of the supported SQL databases, you must have the database software already installed before installing mnoGoSearch.

Note: Starting from the version 3.2, it is possible to compile mnoGoSearch with multiple SQL databases at the same time.

You will need enough permissions to create a new SQL database or to write into an existing database.

MySQL notes: mnoGoSearch is known to work with MySQL versions 3.23, 4.0, 4.1, 4.1, 5.0, 5.1, 6.0. The zlib library must be installed. On a Linux system you'll need the zlib-devel RPM to compile mnoGoSearch MySQL.

PostgreSQL notes: PostgreSQL-7.3.x or later is required.

SQLite notes: The versions 2.x and 3.x are known to work. The blob mode is supported with the version 3.x only.

ODBC notes: iODBC-2.50.22a is known to work.

unixODBC notes: unixODBC versions 1.7 and 2.2.12 are known to work.

Interbase:

MimerSQL notes: the versions 9.1.x and 9.3.8 are known to work.

FreeTDS notes: version 0.52 is known to work with Microsoft SQL Server version 7.0.

Oracle notes: the versions 9.0.1 and xe-univ-10.2.0.1 are known to work.

IBM DB2 notes: V8.1 EE is known to work.

Sybase notes: ASE 12.5 is known to work.

OpenLink Virtuoso notes: Virtuoso-opensource-6.1.0 is known to work.

MonetDB notes: MonetDB-Oct2010 is known to work.
